Common Maintenance Methods for Glass Greenhouses

RELEASE:2019-02-21 17:00:46 SOURCE:本站

A glass greenhouse can be designed and built according to local climate conditions, soil types, and planting patterns. Here are some tips on how to maintain a glass greenhouse on a daily basis:

I. Maintenance of the Main Structure of the Glass Greenhouse

  1. Regularly monitor the greenhouse floor for any signs of sinking or settling.

  2. Avoid overloading the structure, and the main structure of the intelligent greenhouse should not be subjected to strong external impacts.

  3. Do not arbitrarily change the structure of the glass greenhouse after the greenhouse engineering is completed.

  4. If the structure is made of steel, any rust on the supporting columns should be removed promptly, and a new layer should be applied to prevent further damage.

  5. In case of high winds, all vents should be closed; after the wind, check the main frame of the glass greenhouse for any loosening due to the wind. If so, it should be fixed immediately.

II. Maintenance of Peripheral Materials

  1. Whether it's a glass greenhouse or any other type, the dust and impurities covering the peripheral materials should be cleaned regularly. This not only ensures the transparency of the intelligent greenhouse but also maintains the cleanliness of the peripheral materials and prevents corrosion of the film.

  2. During the growing process, avoid striking the peripheral materials or coming into contact with them using sharp objects to prevent damage.

  3. If the peripheral materials are damaged, they should be repaired or replaced in a timely manner.

  4. Check the sealing condition of the joints from time to time.

  5. Avoid standing or squatting on the peripheral materials of the film intelligent greenhouse and glass greenhouse for cleaning dust and impurities. Weight should be shifted to the main structure of the glass greenhouse to prevent damage.

III. Maintenance of Supporting Equipment

    1. Use and Maintenance of the Electric Control Box: The electric control box is the core control system of the intelligent greenhouse (it contains a 380V voltage). It controls all the intelligent facilities in the greenhouse, including internal and external shading (shading) systems, internal insulation systems, and cooling systems (fans, water curtains). After the system is installed and debugged, it has two control systems (manual and automatic). In general, our staff will adjust it to the automatic control system for you. It should not be switched on and off arbitrarily under normal circumstances to extend its service life. Non-professionals should not open the box to avoid causing machine failure or personal injury. Simple daily maintenance: Regularly wipe its exterior with a dry cloth. However, do not open the box to wipe inside, and do not use a damp cloth containing water to wipe it to avoid unnecessary losses.

    2. Use and Maintenance of the Thermostat: This facility in the glass greenhouse is used to sense the data inside the greenhouse and send it to the electric control box. Then the electric control box sends out commands to other equipment (internal and external shading nets, internal insulation films, fans, water curtains, etc.) to operate. As the sensitivity of this facility will directly affect the control of the entire greenhouse, it should not be touched, let alone adjusted arbitrarily, to avoid accidents or losses.

    3. Maintenance of Insulation and Shading System: This system consists of internal and external shading (shading) nets and internal insulation film. The control of the internal and external shading (shading) net and internal insulation film is mainly composed of a gearbox and motor. When this system receives the operation command from the electric control box, the motor will drive the gearbox, and then the push rod will move, achieving the effect of insulation and shading. The gearbox travel switch must be checked every six months to see if the screws are loose, to prevent displacement that cannot stop automatically, to pull the pull rod or card slot aluminum, or even worse, the external network may damage its upper strut bar.

    4. Use and Maintenance of the Cooling System, Fans, and Wet Curtains:

        1. Fans: Check parts regularly and replace them as needed. Check that the motor wiring is secure and the belt shows no signs of slipping. Apply lubricant to the motor. Check if the belt and wheel are properly tensioned, and if the gear bearing is lubricated. Inspect the casing and louvers for corrosion or hidden damage. Check fan blades for balance and cracks; neglecting this can result in total damage and a broken fan.

        2. Wet Curtains: During operation, the most common problem with wet curtains is blockage. When a wet curtain is blocked, ventilation is reduced, and cooling effects are subpar. This also accelerates the aging of the wet curtain, microorganism reproduction, and mineral sedimentation. Common blockages are weeds and insects; to prevent insect swarms, an insect-proof net is installed behind the wet curtain. Ensure circulating water is clean. Hard water can be softened with chemicals, or the pool can be diluted with softened water to dilute the mineral sediment in the pool. When the calcium ion concentration reaches 5PH, the wet curtain begins to scale. As the concentration decreases, the scaling naturally disappears.

In conclusion, proper maintenance and care are vital for the longevity and efficiency of a glass greenhouse. By regularly inspecting and maintaining the main structure, peripheral materials, and supporting equipment, you can ensure that your greenhouse remains in optimal condition for growth. Always remember to handle all equipment carefully, and when in doubt, consult with a professional to avoid any unnecessary damage or accidents. Through these common maintenance methods, your glass greenhouse can provide an ideal environment for your plants year-round.
